I wish should get on a soap and stay there. As soon as she makes a character her own, she leaves! She left as Abigail, and Marcy Miller did a fabulous job taking over as Abigail, only for KM to whine about coming back. Then, after they got rid of Marci for her to come back, she wanted to leave again!

Now she's gonna leave GH. I hope that she doesn't yo-yo back and forth with this part as well!

FWIW, the "late 2000's" haven't happened yet. That will happen in the area of 2090-2099, for example.

Secondly, AMC and OLTL aren't coming back, and I wish people would just accept that fact after all these years and move on with their lives. It's not healthy.

Now to the main point: those dead soaps may have had higher ratings than BTG does now, but the landscape has changed. Y&R, B&B and GH all had, in broad terms, at least 50% higher ratings back then than they do now too. Just like nighttime shows have way lower ratings than they used to (SVU had 10 million viewers in 2010; last year they barely had 4 million). It's all relative.

I'm constantly baffled with TV. How is it that 4 long running soaps in the late 2000's were canceled because of low ratings when they had probably twice the viewership that BTG does now? Unless they are paying rhe staff and actors minimum wages per epidode now, how can they be satisfied with a constant 1.7 million viewers? And BTG looks like an expensive show with all the perfect sets, the amazing wardrobe, an expansive cast, and don't forget the 100 or so wiggs. But yet in the articlesI I read they are thrilled with the success of the show. What????

I thought he had stepped down as writer. The problem most fans have with Y & R is the writing. The story with the AI takeover has developed a life of its own. They have been boring us with that since it started & it's still adding new legs. Also the Matt Clark storyline is over extended, imo. That with so many actor changes.

Wrong according to the Presidents of CBSTV and Paramount plus Thope gave the show it's highest ratings and demographics don't lie and it's Lopeless that currently give the show its lowest ratings the show lost more than 75K viewership thanks to them I'm just glad Casey has scripts and stories ready for a Thope reunion.

I agree, I find it very interesting as well. I'm really into the young adult scene storylines, they've done a great job in not making their characters feel out of the way and making them feel important. The future foundation has been laid there. B&B definitely has a draggy feeling to it and repeats itself a lot, but they do have good payoffs for their storylines.

I didn't pay too much attention to the soaps and where they were at around that time of year last year, but all of them are up in viewership, so that's a great sign for all 4 of them. B&B is doing the best right now leaping from 2.6 million to 2.8 million and doing the best in the demos. The show is better this year to me with the younger adult scene storylines taking centerstage and around that time the Sheila stuff was the spotlight storyline. BTG definitely earned its renewal, it'd be interesting to see where DAYS would be right now in comparison to BTG if it had stayed on NBC. GH seems to be in a better spot right now than last year as well. I think it's the best of the soaps creatively right now.

Y&R tanking likely led to Josh Griffith "resigning" as executive producer. Now if we can get the new executive producer to fire Josh Griffith from his head writing duties, the show might recover. But he has to go.

GH needs to stop dragging on Willow story, Cullum story, Valentine story.
Also Emma, Gio, Chance, Olivia, Jocelyn, Cassius, Curtis, Trina, Felicia, Molly, Cody, Kristina, Brooklyn, Lulu have become boring.
Completely get rid of Portia, Nina, Willow, Drew, and Cullum.
Tracey, Sonny, Dante, Danny, Rocco, Ric, Carli, Brennan, Laura, Ezra, Jordan, Justine, Sidwell, Ethan, Maxi, Lucas, Spinelli, Alexis, Brit and mutta, Elizabeth, Maxi, Ava, Kai, Jacinda, Heather are all fine. Michael and Jason are great - more airtime for Michael.
